The Richmond Art Gallery will explode with colour, featuring works by local and international artists Diyan Achjadi, Moozhan Ahmadzadegan, Maru Aponte, Sandeep Johal, Yaimel López Zaldívar, Laura Meza Orozco, Osvaldo Ramirez Castillo, Malina Sintnicolaas, Charlene Vickers and Jan Wade. Richmond Museum: Exhibition Tours with Kevin Harris

Don’t miss The Maple Road Experience at the Richmond Museum! This inspiring new exhibition takes you inside the story of Kevin Harris— a kid with a passion for skateboarding who, with the help of his parents, built a legendary backyard half pipe that sparked a thriving skate community.

Join Kevin Harris for an exclusive guided tour of the exhibition and learn more about his iconic story, Richmond’s skateboarding culture and rare insights behind each captivating display.

Kevin Harris turned pro for Powell-Peralta in 1982, becoming Canada’s first professional skateboarder. Nicknamed “The Iceman” for his smooth style and hailing from The Great White North, he was ranked as one of the best freestyle skateboarders in the world through the 1980s and into the 2000s. A member of the world-famous Bones Brigade skateboard team, Kevin is known for his fluid skating style and complex variations with exceptional foot work.

Richmond Heritage Commission: Stir the Pot Heritage Week Display

Join the Richmond Heritage Commission in celebrating BC ‘s Heritage Week, February 16-22, by connecting to Richmond’s past and exploring the many layers and unique stories of Richmond. This year’s theme of Stir the Pot celebrates the connections of food and heritage.

Stop by to discover local history and heritage through displays and hands-on activities. There will be photos and maps as well as mini activities for children, including colourizing black and white historic photos and matching wooden block puzzle pieces to complete historic landmarks. Members of the Heritage Commission and the Friends of the Richmond Archives will be on hand to share some fun and fascinating history facts for all ages.

The Richmond Heritage Commission has six members appointed by City Council. The Commission provides advice to Council on heritage conservation and undertakes and supports activities that benefit heritage in Richmond.

The Friends of the Richmond Archives support the work of the City of Richmond Archives and promote the preservation and understanding of Richmond’s history.


World of Music & Arts: Instrument Petting Zoo

Come and discover a wide array of different instruments, including shakers, drums, xylophones and many, many more! Explore and interact with all sorts of instruments under the supervision of experienced music teachers.

World of Music and Arts was established in 1997 and has served the Richmond community ever since. In September 2015, the school moved into a new state-of-the-art facility designed specially for music lessons, giving students an excellent environment for music study. Experienced faculty are proud to guide students on wonderful musical adventures and students regularly give back to the community by sharing their music at retirement homes.

Enjoy simple music-making in a small group. Rotate through different instruments in a flexible, hands-on setting.
